Milos, Greece, is a true paradise for those who love both relaxing on a beach and adventure. Our favorite part of our Milos vacation was the boat tour to Kleftiko. One of the most beautiful places in Milos is Kleftiko, which is only reachable by boat. Kleftiko is stunning with its bright turquoise water, towering white rock formations and ancient pirate caves. A trip to Milos would be incomplete without a boat trip to this gorgeous part of the island. This is everything you need to know about the absolute must-do boat tour in Milos, Greece.
We booked this full day boat tour with Sailing Cruises through Trip Advisor on our first full day in Milos. It was the PERFECT start to our Milos vacation.
I recommend booking your boat tour at the beginning of your stay. It can be windy in Milos, and boat tours will cancel if it is too windy. If your tour is canceled due to wind, you will still have time to reschedule it if you have it booked at the beginning of your trip.

The Boat & Crew
Sail & Motor Boat
Stop 1: Kalogries Beach
Our first stop on the tour was Kalogries Beach. Once the boat was anchored, Andy and Aldie handed us pool noodles to help us swim to shore. The water was incredibly clear, and shallow enough that we only needed the noodles for a short distance before we could stand and walk along the beach.
The tour also included snorkel gear. We actually brought our own snorkel masks, so we didn’t use the provided gear.
Kalogries Beach was a great spot to cool off, snorkel and swim, but in comparison to the other stunning locations we visited late in the tour, we realized this was just the warm up!
After 30 minutes exploring Kalogries Beach, we returned to the boat to continue our adventure!
Stop 2: Sikia Cave
The second stop on our boat tour was the stunning Sikia Cave, a true highlight of Milos. This remarkable cave is set against a backdrop of bright white rock formations, with crystal-clear turquoise waters at its entrance. The most striking feature of Sikia Cave is its partially collapsed ceiling, which has created a natural skylight that allows sunlight to pour in, casting a beautiful glow throughout the cave’s interior and reflecting off the water below.
At the cave, there were only four boats anchored, including ours, alongside three other Polco Sailing boats that we tied up to. Once again, we were provided with pool noodles and snorkel gear before plunging into the turquoise water . The sea inside the cave was calm and peaceful, perfect for swimming and snorkeling.

Stop 3: Kleftiko Sea Caves
This tour definitely saved the best for last— the absolutely incredible Kleftiko! From the moment we arrived, we were completely blown away by the sheer beauty and awe-inspiring nature of the place. The dramatic white rock formations, crystal-clear turquoise waters, and hidden caves made Kleftiko feel like something straight out of a dream.
As we approached, we were immediately struck by the towering arch shaped rock formations. It was like something out of a magazine spread, so breathtaking that it was hard to know where to focus. Everywhere we looked, beauty surrounded us— jagged cliffs, caves to explore, and the most vivid blue waters imaginable. I couldn’t stop snapping pictures and videos, trying to capture the sheer magic of it all. It felt surreal!
Snorkeling in Kleftiko
After cruising through the stunning rock formations on our sailboat, we anchored in Kleftiko to swim and snorkel. We snorkeled in a shallow cave lined with stacked rock formations.

What to Bring (And Not To Bring)
Liquid Sunscreen – Avoid bringing spray sunscreen on this boat tour. It’s frowned upon because it makes the deck slippery. . If you do bring spray sunscreen, you’ll need to spray it into your hand first and then apply it, rather than spraying it directly onto your body.
GoPro – If you have a GoPro, definitely bring it! We captured some amazing footage snorkeling and exploring the sea caves. While the captain will take videos of your jumps and adventures, it’s still great to have your own camera to document the experience.
Waterproof Phone Lanyard – If you don’t have a GoPro, bring a waterproof phone lanyard! You can take pictures and videos in the sea caves with your phone. Keep in mind, there’s a lot of splashing on the Zodiac boat, so you’ll want to secure your phone with a waterproof lanyard to protect it.
Snorkel Gear – If you prefer using your own snorkel gear, feel free to bring it along. The tour provides snorkel equipment, but some may prefer their own for comfort and fit.
Hat and Towel – A hat for sun protection and a towel for drying off after a swim are always a good idea!
Cash for Tips – Don’t forget to bring some cash to tip the crew. They work hard to make sure you have an amazing experience!
